bassike avalon 3.0
Occupying an original 1970s building, bassike's newest incarnation in Avalon expresses an Australian modernist mood through the physical qualities of the site and grounded by the material & styling selections of the interiors.
The double-height shopfront is composed 3 oversized oak pivot doors framed by exposed bricks set atop travertine crazy paving steps & landing.
Upon entering the store, the light filled double-height void creates a sense of arrival while acting as a volume for natural light to interact with the interiors surfaces.
Custom furniture and fixtures fill the interiors, with a new oak shelving concept being introduced to the bassike retail vernacular.
The fitting room occupies a separate nook with the change-room curtains constructed in bright ochre linen acting as a refreshing contrast to polished concrete flooring. Architectural lighting creates warmth an ambience, with the Le Corbusier Lampe de Marseille wall lamp anchoring the central sitting area within the store.
Beyond the linear counter, an oak pivot door opens out onto the new courtyard, creating a natural flow to the space - almost residential in nature - to complement the overall tone of the bassike Avalon store.
