The CAMILLA AND MARC Queen Street boutique is conceived as an immersive environment, expressing an inviting, residential tone.
Akin Atelier has designed the CAMILLA AND MARC Woollahra flagship, articulated by a new 8.5m facade and double-height entrance void.
Conceived as an immersive environment, the design strategy is underpinned by a luxurious and contemporary feel that sees the design express an inviting residential tone through an amalgam of architectural qualities along with curated furniture, art, and lighting to reflect context & brand.
Occupying a linear ground-floor footprint, the store is divided into three zones to capture the mood of a sprawling home, each delineated by arrangements of furniture & lighting items. Clothing rails and display shelves seamlessly integrate into recessed walls and become intentionally secondary to the spatial experience.
The front room pays homage to Woollahra's heritage context with a custom fireplace positioned along an immense sandstone hearth. The addition of a Soriana by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina sofa, Pel tubular armchair, and vintage coffee table adds modern contrast.
Beyond the fireplace the oak & marble counter sits opposite Baxter's Tactile sofa and Olivia Bossy credenza, flanked by fitting rooms that harness playful pops of colour in bright green Raf Simons for Kvadrat fabric.
Joinery seamlessly blends into the store’s geometry to house the brand’s accessories as you would display curated objects in the home. A pair of Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina armchairs sit before a deep curved reveal and reeded glass window at the store's rear elevation, highlighting the varying tones & textures unique to the store.
