Incu HQ
The new Incu HQ is a montage to modern fashion, design, and workmanship.
What was originally an old mechanic’s workshop on a 1358sqm lot has now been converted and built into retail outlet, office, and warehouse. The crafted detail of the design and build extends from the exterior to the interior, aligning with Incu’s unique brand offering.
Intricate brickwork was a key materiality of the project, a reference to the existing industrial brick buildings in the Rosebery area. The façade is constructed of red dry-press bricks in a variety of patterns, paired with tonal textured render at the first floor and anchored with terracotta tiles to the floor surfaces, all materials consistent with the Incu brand. The architectural design of the façade required adherence to tolerances, and the construction executed complex details such as the rendered curve meets the brick wall and brick tiled soffits. The narrow nature of the site called for creative ways to draw natural light into the office space. An internal courtyard and front balcony were key outdoor spaces incorporated into the design, to provide natural light & ventilation whilst encouraging an open workspace environment for the Incu staff.
Polished concrete flooring references the material palette within Incu’s retail stores and has been used as the primary interior floor finish. The raw concrete is balanced with premium timber finishes, floor to ceiling windows, feature lighting and a bespoke feature ceiling to the central office corridor. The clean lines of the outlet shop fixtures are softened with a warm and textured palette of timber, brick and terracotta, materials in keeping with the Incu visual language.
