The Duality of Understated Playfulness
Incu Galeries Men’s store is designed as a flexible retail environment that expresses duality through materiality & tone.
The store front is clad in crazy-pattern stone composed in Rosso Alicante, Gosford Sandstone, Pietra grey, Palisandro & Volakas, crafting a welcoming mood as you enter the space.
Custom fixtures & furniture are positioned to highlight vignettes within the store, framing Incu’s multi-branded offering in an understated yet playful way with material variations also used to define these spatial concepts. Terrazzo tile floors & perforated plywood ceilings unify the material palette.
The dedicated footwear area is framed by custom joinery and highlighted in sisal flooring & an inviting custom ottoman upholstered in 100% recycled polyester to elevate the customer experience, and a concept space, indicated by a shift in tone of the suspended hanging rail system, can be reconfigured to reflect specific brand pop-ups and highlights.
A base-tone of calming oak timber is enriched by a selection of new finishes to complement and uplift the space, including;
- Steel hanging rail fixtures in Dulux Paperbark to contrast the wall colour
- Marblo tabletops, display plinths & shelving unit in bold orange.
- Point-of-Sale counter clad in Green Weave Quartzite.
- A glimpse of pale terracotta in the fitting rooms, a nod to the INCU Womenswear store on the upper level.
- And tactile sisal panelling.
All fixtures are custom designed by Akin Atelier for Incu, with select pieces by local furniture designers including Laker Studio and Skeehan Studio.
A flexible Andro S lighting scheme provides both directional and ambient light, while illuminated stretch fabric ceiling lights adds a new dimension to the space while also suggesting visual cues as a guide throughout the store.
The INCU men’s vernacular is elevated and evolved through the introduction of new finishes and ideas,express an approachable space with modern playfulness.
