Pinky's

Pinky’s is a reimagined boathouse by Akin Atelier & 360 degrees Landscape Architecture.

Located on Gibson's Beach, Vaucluse, Pinky’s Boathouse was designed as an interior living solution for a family who spend much of their time on the harbour. Using the existing foundations, the interior design intention for the boathouse was to create a space that could adapt to the changing conditions of the harbour.

Apertures were introduced to the north façade, flooding light into the interiors, which can be closed off with blinds to create a more intimate and quiet environment.

Materiality & custom details centre on the personality & lifestyle of the client while acknowledging the previous owner; a sailor & naval engineer whose collected artefacts remain to form part of the boatshed's charm.

From the kitchenette an awning window opens up to the garden terrace, connecting Pinky's to the fire pit and outdoor dining, ensuring a continuous flow between the two spaces for this family who are passionate hosts.
